Born Rikhado Muziwendlovu Chifaro Makhado at KwaMashu, Natal in 1987, Riky Rick kickstarted his music career in 2008 and by 2014, he was already a big name in the industry.


Makhado enjoyed success in his career and he was able to provide a comfortable life for his family including a lovely home.

In 2015, several tabloids reported that the late Riky Rick had bought his house after Cassper Nyovest who was his close friend back in the day took to Instagram to congratulate Riky on his house saying that since they had both bought their dream houses their next aim was on buying their dream cars. Cassper has since removed the post.

Unlike most accomplished stars who love to flex their houses and cars on social media, Riky Rick was quite modest and he rarely ever shared photos of his property online.


According to sources, Riky Rick’s house was located in Waterfall Estate in Midrand, north of Johannesburg, Gauteng.

Riky Rick had an appetite for sleek cars and he owned a couple of expensive rides. Some of the cars in his collection included the following a Mercedes Benz AMG GTS Coupe priced at R2 million, a Ferrari estimated to cost R5 million and a Porsche worth R1.5 million.


Riky Rick’s wife and children

The late Riky Rick was a family man who never shied from showering his wife and children with love. When he passed on, he left behind a beautiful wife called Bianca Naidoo.


Together with Bianca Naidoo, Riky Rick had two children. A son called Maik Daniel Makhado who was born in 2014, and a daughter called Jordan who was born in 2013 from Bianca Naidoo’s former relationship. The family lived in their beautiful home in Waterfall Estate in Midrand.


Riky Rick’s death

The 23rd of February 2022 will always be remembered as one of the darkest days in South Africa’s entertainment industry as it is the day when Riky Rick took his own life.


The musician reportedly was found hanging lifeless from the roof of his music studio which was located a few metres from his house. He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.


Riky Rick had been battling severe depression for a long time and it appears that he got to a point where he couldn’t handle the pain any longer.


According to Sunday World, Riky Rick left behind two suicide notes- one for his wife and another one for his children (Maik and Jordan.) In the notes, he asked them not to blame themselves for his unbearable life and asked for their forgiveness for his decision and for being the one who gives up.


On 1st March 2022, a private funeral was held for the late Riky Rick after which his body was cremated.


Riky Rick may be gone, but he will definitely never be forgotten. We hope that his soul has found the peace he didn’t get while he lived.
