JUST before the fiery death, the mum went out to buy cold drink.
Maria's quick trip for a cold drink turned into an unimaginable nightmare early on Sunday, 29 June.
When she returned, she found her shack in Alra Park, Ext 3, Snake Park, Nigel engulfed in flames.

She was left with facial burns, which will be her painful memories of the fateful day.
The fire tragically claimed the lives of Khanye's 25-year-old son, Japhta Mofokeng, and her two-year-old granddaughter, Ntando Mofokeng.
Their charred remains were later recovered from the rubble.

Miraculously, an eight-year-old grandchild managed to escape with minor burns and is fighting for her life at Pholosong Hospital in Tsakani.
"I spent years accumulating things, and they were destroyed in a matter of seconds, and sadly, my children were also taken away," a grief-stricken Maria said, highlighting the complete loss the family has endured.

Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Services spokesman Maswazi Mdluli confirmed that firefighters responded to the incident at 3am, discovering a four-roomed shack fully engulfed. The community had already begun assisting with extinguishing the flames when emergency services arrived.
In the wake of this devastating loss, Maria is appealing to the public for urgent assistance.
She is in desperate need of building materials and furniture to rebuild her home.
Furthermore, she's appealing for help to bury her loved ones, saying: "I have two bodies already and don't know where we are going to bury them. I'd appreciate any kind of help from the community."
Captain Nelda Sekgobela, spokeswoman for Ekurhuleni district police, said two inquest dockets have been opened.
