Sunday’s episode (30 October) of Carte Blanche saw the team investigating the popular franchise Tammy Taylor South Africa for using and selling fake products.
The investigative show uncovered how the notorious beauty franchise is allegedly peddling fake products to consumers who are none the wiser.

WHERE TAMMY TAYLOR PRINTS PRODUCTS
According to Carte Blanche, after Tammy Taylor USA cancelled the Master Licence Agreement, they found out that the company was using two printing companies in Midrand for their products.
The investigative show says that the owner of the Marvel Group showed them some of the work he has done for Tammy Taylor.
“Basically, what we do is, they [Tammy Taylor SA] send us the artwork and we print directly onto the bottles”.
When the producer of the show Masa Kekana pointed out that the printed bottle says the product is made in the USA, the owner agreed that the product is definitely not made in the states.
COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT BY THE VILJOENS
Tammy Taylor Incorporated is a company that is registered in the United States and it seems that they pulled the plug on supplying the South African franchise.
But the franchise has been using the name, logos and products of Tammy Taylor illegally, infringing the trademark.

The owners of the South African franchise, Mel Viljoen and her husband, Peet Viljoen claim that they have rights to the brand. They have however been served with a cease and desist from the original owners of the brand.
