Former Marumo Gallants and current Orlando Pirates winger Daniel Msendami was introduced in the 80th minute after Yanela Mbuthuma was stretched off the pitch due to injury in the Betway Premiership match against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Daniel Msendami joined Orlando Pirates in January following his impressive performance during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals, held in Morocco in December. Before joining the Buccaneers, Msendami was also linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs—rumors he did not distance himself from at the time.
The Zimbabwean international winger is still settling in and adapting to the playing style of head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou. Despite this transition period, Ouaddou heaped praise on new recruits Andre de Jong and Daniel Msendami following their debuts in the Pirates’ 2-0 victory over Magesi FC.
In the match against Sundowns, the Brazilians built a comfortable 2-0 cushion thanks to a brace from Brayan León late in the first half. While a deflected goal from Patrick Maswanganyi briefly sparked life into the Pirates’ offense, their momentum eventually died out.
