Last July, following a bail grant of R10,000, Jub Jub surrendered his passport to the authorities as part of his bail conditions, also obliging to deliver it to the Brixton police station. The multifaceted artist and television personality faces an array of 13 charges, including rape, indecent assault, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and kidnapping. The accusations stem from three individuals who have made their grievances public and have a history of association with the accused.

During his last court appearance, Jub Jub’s defense, led by Advocate Terrence Baloyi, requested a postponement to furnish representations to the Director of Public Prosecutions. Meanwhile, the prosecution asserted the conclusion of their investigations and readiness to proceed.

Anticipating Verdicts

State Prosecutor Agnes Bezuidenhout did not contest the postponement, reiterating the completion of their inquiries and their preparedness for the legal process. “We have provided the defence with comprehensive information,” she stated. “While we do not oppose the delay, it’s crucial to note that our investigation has long concluded.” The presiding magistrate, Betty Khumalo, outlined the schedule, stating, “Mr. Maarohanye, your case has been adjourned for consideration of bail conditions on April 25th. However, June 13th is earmarked for updates from the Director of Public Prosecutions.”
