Orlando Pirates have made a significant move by acquiring Keagan Johannes from their PSL rival, SuperSport United. This 23-year-old defender is one of the latest additions to the Bucs’ roster, with reports indicating he has already signed with the team.
The signing of Johannes marks the third acquisition for Pirates, who are also in the midst of scouting for a new assistant coach. Following Sergio Alemenara’s departure, the team’s management is keen on filling this role, potentially with a European coach, as they continue their pre-season tour in Europe.
The Bucs are set to face European Champions Sevilla in Spain, building on last year’s successful trip which saw them return unbeaten. Their performance during these tours has been stellar, contributing to their victories in the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup. With their sights set on the CAF Champions League and challenging Mamelodi Sundowns’ dominance in the DStv Premiership, Pirates are gearing up for a competitive season ahead.
