Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been named English Premier League (EPL) Player of the Month for March 2026, marking the sixth time the Portuguese international has claimed the individual honor.

Fernandes led United through an undefeated March, recording at least one goal involvement in fixtures against Crystal Palace, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and Bournemouth. The midfielder concluded the month with a total of two goals and four assists.

During United’s 3-1 victory over Aston Villa, Fernandes recorded two assists for teammates Casemiro and Matheus Cunha. The performance saw him reach 100 assists for the club since his arrival in 2020. Having surpassed 100 goals earlier this season, Fernandes joins Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs as the only Manchester United players to achieve a “century” in both categories during the Premier League era.

  • Fernandes’s impact in March was recognised across multiple voting platforms:
  • Premier League Player of the Month: Winner (beating a seven-man shortlist).
  • Club Player of the Month: Winner (fan-voted).
  • Man of the Match: Secured in three out of four league appearances.

The United captain emerged ahead of a competitive shortlist that included Everton’s James Garner, Brighton’s Danny Welbeck, Morgan Gibbs-White (Nottingham Forest), Anthony Gordon (Newcastle United), Alex Iwobi (Fulham), and Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya.

With this sixth trophy, Fernandes moves within one award of the all-time record of seven, currently shared by Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane, and Mohamed Salah. He is the second Manchester United player to win the award this season, following Bryan Mbeumo’s selection in October 2025.

The Portugal international has put together an incredible campaign so far, but managed to surpass even his own high standards in March, registering at least one goal or assist in all four of our games across the month, against Crystal Palace, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Bournemouth.

Fernandes returns to domestic action following the international break, where he contributed two assists for Portugal. United are scheduled to face Leeds United in their next Premier League fixture.
