The North West Health Department has suspended three senior officials at its Tswaing sub-district office in Delareyville. The officials, who include the sub-district manager, allegedly withheld vaccines from black patients at a local vaccination site, saying they were out of stock.

They then allegedly mobilised members of the local white community for vaccination. Departmental Spokesperson, Tebogo Lekgethwane, says the department views the allegations in a very serious light. SABC News

Ramaphosa to appear at state capture inquiry

 

President Cyril Ramaphosa will on Wednesday and Thursday appear before the state capture inquiry.

He will first give evidence in his capacity as the current ANC president and former deputy president of the party.

 

Afterwards, he will testify in his capacity as the current president and former deputy president of the country.

During his last appearance in May, the president admitted that corruption has negatively affected service delivery.

He also spoke on the step-aside rule, saying it was a fair and common practice.ENCA News

I feel like taking my own life, says mother of the raped daughter

 

Khensani Primary School in Soshanguve Block H has been thrust into the spotlight after reports that a 6-year-old Grade 1 learner was raped inside a toilet on the school premises.

The Pretoria News was told that the young girl was on her way to the toilet when she was followed – unaware – by one of the general workers, who allegedly raped her.

 

Some community members claimed the alleged perpetrator was still reporting for duty at the school despite the rape accusations levelled against him.

According to the girl’s statement made to the police in Soshanguve, the incident happened on August 2, but it was reported the next day.

The police were told that the girl had just finished relieving herself when the alleged perpetrator entered the toilet. IOL News

 

Cyclist congestion in Sea Point Promenade a concern

 

While the Western Cape transport department is encouraging the public to swop their vehicles for bicycles and cycle to and from work, the City of Cape Town is worried that amid the pandemic, the Sea Point Promenade is becoming congested and this is adding to safety issues.

It is now considering a proposal that may see the regulation of cycling there.

But businesses dependent on bicycle rentals say should the recommendations be adopted, they will be economically impacted.  ENCA News

 Sakhile ’Killer Kau’ Hlatshwayo described as a loving and respectful person

 

On Monday morning South Africans woke up to devastating reports that Amapiano artists Mpura, Khanya Hadebe, Thando Tot, TD, and killer Kau were involved in a fatal accident on their way to perform at an event in the North West.

While the details around the accident are still sketchy, Sakhile Hlatshwayo’s (Killer Kau) family confirmed that the 23-year old rising star passed away on Women’s Day. They said that they received a call from a police officer who informed them about the ordeal.. IOL News
