Veteran actress Connie Chiume is set to be honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards (HAPAS) on Saturday 29 October in Pasadena, United States.
This comes after the Gomora actress received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) in September.

As per their website, the HAPAs honour African and American political figures, celebrities and veteran entertainers.
South Africa’s Connie Chiume is one of many on-screen talents who will be honoured at the awards.
Speaking to Channel24, Chiume said she received word about the Lifetime Achievement Award at the HAPAs while waiting to receive her SAFTA.
“Somewhere out there, some people are watching and they can see and you appreciate that – being acknowledged for your work by people you’ve never met, people you don’t know. It’s a really, really big honour for me to go.”

Chiume was one of a few South African actors who starred in Marvel’s Black Panther in 2018. The film’s sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, is set to be released on 11 November.
Although she has not confirmed if she will be starring in the film, Chiume has been counting down the days until the film’s release.
