Yet another The River star has ‘left’ the popular telenovela after it was announced that three other actors have left the show.
Entertainment Commentator Kgopolo “Phil” Mphela said in a tweet, With Lawrence Maleka having resigned as Zolani, Lunathi, the actress who plays Emma, will be taking a break from the show. Lunathi will be off the show temporarily while writers adjust the story to accommodate changes.”
‘SHE DOES NOT HAVE A STORYLINE’
Emma’s character is said to have been without a proper storyline for a while. Zolani, her husband has been unfaithful for the longest time yet her storyline is not progressing. Some viewers said that her character was no longer bringing anything worth watching to the show.
But already she doesn’t have a storyline even now with Zolani on the show,” said @Lichume2.
“No self respecting actor can tolerate the mess the show has become. Protecting one’s brand is key. Emma has been Mia on the show this season,” said @_MissKay22.
She should’ve left permanently after Mbali died and Zolani fell out of love with her. There was no storyline for her for a long time vele. That marriage was long dead bandla hay,” said @nkosazane_enhle.
VIEWERS BLAME SINDI DLATHU
The telenovela’s viewers are placing the blame on Sindi Dlathu (Lindiwe) who is also an executive producer of the show.
Sindi’s sister Tina Dlathu joined the once popular telenovela in Season 5 and a number of people on social media have been complaining about her acting skills
Viewers are also wondering why Tina doesn’t do kissing scenes with Zolani played by award-winning actor and presenter Lawrence Maleka.
The River viewers took to social media to complain about actress Tina’s acting skills and her awkward scenes with her love interest Zolani.
Fans demand to know if the actress got the role because of her sister Sindi Dlathu who is a producer and plays fan-favourite character Lindiwe Dikana-Dlamini on the show.
